ENERGY PERFORMACE CERTIFICATION
In accordance with the Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007, by October 2008 all buildings which are constructed, sold or rented out will require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
The purpose is to record, by means of a rating, the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of a building. The ratings are indicated between A and G, where A is the most efficient and G the least efficient.
Energy Performance will be assessed mostly using the Simplified Building Energy Method (SBEM). Fundamental to this assessment are accurate, up to date measured floor plans. Maltby Land Surveys Ltd and MBS Survey Software Ltd are uniquely placed not only to provide precise zoned plan information but to populate the SBEM database from graphical data automatically.
