HECRAS DATA

HECRAS was developed by the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Hydrologic Engineering Centre in Davis, California.

It is an integrated system of hydraulic modelling software designed for the 1D hydraulic analysis of open channels, bridges and culverts that runs on Microsoft Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP. The software allows the simulation of flow in a variety of standard or user-defined channels. In steady-state mode, the program will resolve both sub-critical, supercritical and mixed flow regimes and models both branched (dendritic) and looped channel works.

The system comprises a Graphical User Interface (GUI), separate hydraulic analysis components, data storage and management capabilities, graphics and reporting facilities.

MLS together with MBS Software Ltd have incorporated into the RXS software package a direct export into the HECRAS program. Exporting directly in this format makes the transition from field to hydraulic model very efficient. Duplication of data processing is avoided.
