RIGHTS TO LIGHT

To produce a Rights of Light study a 3D model of the existing site and the proposed site must be built. Historically this has been carried out using 2D survey data from the Ordnance Survey and site specific photos.

At Maltby Land Surveys Ltd we have combined our Surveying and CAD skills with the help of the latest High Definition Laser Scanning technology and now have a very efficient (and accurate) way of both capturing and modelling buildings.

The real value in commissioning a detailed and accurate 3d model is in its many other uses including the Elevations and Sections that can be derived directly from it. Unlike a traditional set of independently measured 2d surveys, you have one model and the 2d data is generated from it.

Moreover since the data capture process is comprehensive, additional information can also be gained around the site extents which can be processed at a later date or simply archived for future project requirements.
